Currently, Vikas is the Deputy Director Programme & Policy, Save the Children – South India and handles development and humanitarian operations and policy advocacy in the states of Telangana, AP, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Odisha and Kerala covering more than 1000 plus villages. He is an international development, humanitarian & emergency management practitioner, a social worker by profession, child rights activist by passion, and a high performance leadership facilitator, with 23 years of varied professional and consulting experience in national coalitions, INGOs, national & grassroots NGOs and global energy and transnational companies in India, Asia and Middle East. He has been advisor to UN India, Planning Commission and non profit organisations including as Christian Aid, Sphere India, CRY, CARE India and several corporates in Asia and the Middle East. He was the Global Vice President, International Humanist and Ethical Youth Organization (IHEYO), He was also the India Orientation Manager and the Deputy Country Representative, Canadian Crossroads International (India) of the Canadian High Commission. He has been awarded the prestigious Rotary World Peace Fellowship, from The Rotary Foundation, USA and has been featured as one of the six Rotary Peace Fellows globally on a ‘Peace Tie’ as a recognition of his outstanding humanitarian work. He also received a Gold Medal and Commendation for promoting environmental consciousness from Nehru Yuva Kendra and many more. Vikas earned his Masters in International Studies (Peace & Conflict Resolution) from The University of Queensland, Australia and a Masters in Social Work (Industrial Relations and Personnel Management) from India.
