Dr. Shailendra Hegde is a medical doctor with specialization in Public Health and Preventive Medicine from the prestigious St. John’s Medical College and a specialization in Management of International Organizations from the University of Geneva, Switzerland. He has over 15 years of experience in leading and delivering clinical services, conducting community-based research, providing academic training in a variety of health care institutions and managing health care programmes. Dr. Hegde leads the innovations vertical at Piramal Swasthya under which he leads the design and development of all pilot projects related to maternal and child health, tribal health, NCD management and as well as public health related interventions in 25 Aspirational Districts in partnership with NITI Aayog. He is an avid reader and has co-authored over 40 publications in reputed national and international medical journals. Dr. Hegde had led the strategy, design and development of a first-of-its-kind ‘Multi-stakeholder Tribal Health Collaborative’ called Anamaya, which addresses the primary health care challenges among Tribal Communities in India.
