Dr. Arghya Sengupta is Founder and Research Director, Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy. Vidhi is an independent think-tank doing legal research to make better laws and improve governance for the public good. Arghya’s specific areas of focus are constitutional law, judicial reforms and growth of the digital economy. He develops his original ideas through a monthly column at The Telegraph and The Times of India. He has served on numerous government committees including the Committee of Experts to draft a data protection law for India. He has recently authored a book “Independence and Accountability of the Indian Higher Judiciary” (Cambridge, 2019) which builds on his doctoral work at Oxford University. Prior to founding Vidhi, he was at Oxford University as a Lecturer in Administrative Law at Pembroke College.
