Ms. Anita Sharma has been in the development sector for more than a decade. She is working on water quality issues particularly its management at the grassroots level with Peoples Science Institute. Currently, she is managing a community-based fluorosis mitigation program in Dhar district Madhya Pradesh supported by Frank Water UK. She is also coordinating the project on water security through community-based springshed development in the Indian Himalayan Region funded by MoEF under the National Mission on Himalayan Studies. In the past, she has assessed the impact of tanneries on groundwater quality in Jajmau, Kanpur; Impact of rice mill effluents on water quality in Mahasamund, Raipur; Impact of kumbh mela on the water quality and benthic diversity of river Ganga at Haridwar; Groundwater quality monitoring in some of the industrially affected areas of Saharanpur district in Uttar Pradesh. She has developed a low cost, portable water quality testing kit and has also been involved in designing course content and delivering training on water quality.
