Pandemic: Individual Rights vs Collective Responsibilities

No one is safe until everyone is safe. By virtue of being citizens of a sovereign republic, all individuals are entitled to their right to freedom of choice. In the context of infectious pandemics like COVID-19, when people want the ‘freedom to choose’ over their own health, their individual freedoms impact health of others, we are treading a thin line between individual rights and collective responsibility. In this debate, we deliberate the fine line between individual freedom and collective responsibility.
